EKpass Launches PL87 Pipelayer Training
EKpass launched PL87 Pipelayer training in December 2012 for a major oil sands producer in Northern Alberta, Canada. Near Fort McMurray, Alta., in the Athabasca region, this major oil sand producer extracts and upgrades oil sands into high-quality, refinery-ready crude oil products and diesel fuel. The training program provided by EKpass consisted of; customized operator, basic maintenance, and safety training that is targeted to the client’s operation.
The Caterpillar PL87 provides increased lift capacity, enhanced slope capability, ease of operation, performance and transportability. The improved hydraulics of the PL87 offers greater response and more precise control. The PL87 new heavy duty winch works with an updated hydraulic system for greater machine productivity. A new counterweight profile adds more weight providing increased lift capacity of the PL87. As is the case with all mobile heavy equipment, the machine is only as good as the operator. A skilled heavy equipment operator is able to utilize his equipment to its fullest potential. This is where EKpass comes in.
