Pipelayer operator qualification and competency can be an issue in today’s pipeline world. In order to assist contractors with ensuring that their new and existing operators are in fact qualified, EKpass offers services in addition to their world class training programs. EKpass offers Observation & Certification programs (Obs & Certs) as well as the EKpass On-Site Eligibility Screening (OSES) programs.
The Obs & Certs program takes pipelayer operators through a brief workshop followed by assessment through observation on the job. Successful candidates are then certified by EKpass. This program is intended for existing pipelayer operators.
When a contractor hires operators that they may be unfamiliar with, EKpass provides the OSES program to ensure that these operators are eligible to enter the Obs & Certs program, screening the operators before they enter the jobsite.
EKpass has just completed a 3 month project with Midwest Pipelines Inc. of Edmonton Canada. Darrel Ziehr, Vice President Midwest Pipelines stated, “EKpass provided us the method and confidence to ensure that our operators have the qualifications and experience we need on the job. We consider their training and certification programs as the benchmark of our industry.”
EKpass will soon be announcing the launch of new additions to their pipeline series programs that are well suited for construction managers, project managers, engineers, construction superintendents, foreman, and equipment operators. Watch the EKpass website at ekpass.com for these and all announcements.
